What People Are Saying

My CDCA counselor Kaycie has been very eager to help and cares about me and will go the distance. The groups are very important. The structure and defining my addiction has helped me be more assertive. Being able to vent and talk about grief to an intelligent mental health counselor has helped keep all my levels and pressure at bay. Sharing my story and getting feedback and listening to others here as well as laughter has really helped. My peers have really helped by being good listeners and giving advice when needed. I recommend this program to anyone who struggles and needs structure. You’re here for your problems, don’t worry about what Joe, Bob, or Billy are doing.

My anger management groups and taking notes and paying attention to the whole situation and taking it to heart and having rules gets you ready for the outside world, you might not understand at first if you truly want recovery, you will get it and learn a lot from it. Mental health management was great. You got to really dig in the inside, you got to really think in your darkest day and want to do better and mental health will help. They bring up things in your past that are holding you back and you have to work through it and they are there for you by your side. The councilors have a lot of patience and want the best for you.

My journey began March of 2024. I finally accepted the fact that I had a problem that I couldn’t handle on my own. My youngest son suggested this place in Ohio. So took a faith journey. Steps of Recovery is where I landed. The best choice in my life. I learned things about myself that I didn’t know. The counselors are absolutely amazing. They not only listened but they shared their experiences as well. Great accomendations food was fantastic. Full gym where you were allowed to work out I would highly recommend it to anyone who is interested in chaning their life.

The program gave me my life back and the ability to be a good father. I am currently active in church services and bible study. I had access to church and the gym facility while in the program. They connected me with all available resources and I’ve lived in my own place for the past 19 months. Prior to STEPS I was homeless for about 4 years. Staff has always continued to be sober support anytime I needed even upon completing the program. Rachel and Screech both went above and beyond and helped with getting my daughter to and from school when I needed help due to having emergency custody of her at which time was after completion of the program and they did this out of their kindness. Rachel has continued to reach out to me on a weekly basis still to this day to ensure I continue to stay on the right path with continued support. I know that at anytime I can reach out to any of the staff for support if needed. When I was in the program I learned life skills, coping skills, stabilized my mental health and learned how to re-live life, sober. I gained life long friendships with other clients and staff. My physical health was managed by Doc and he cured my Hepatitis C and managed my blood pressure. I successfully completed the 8 month Sublocade as MAT with a plan to be completely substance free and I’ve been off MAT for over a year and been sober for 19 months and will always be grateful for STEPS. Thanks to God and Steps of recovery I am living the life I once prayed for.
